Nodum Versions

Nodum is offered in three main versions, each designed for a specific operating environment and set of needs. Understanding the differences is key to knowing what features to expect from your installation.

This is the version installed on the plant floor, close to the machinery. Its focus is on direct connectivity with devices (PLCs, sensors) and real-time data acquisition. It is the first layer of information collection.

The most complete version, designed to be installed on a local server (on-premise). It aggregates data from one or multiple EDGE devices, unifies them into a UNS, allows for advanced transformations, and distributes the information to other business systems (ERP, BI, etc.). It includes all the functionalities of EDGE and CLOUD.

A version oriented towards remote and centralized operation from the cloud. It allows for advanced broker management, monitoring, and visualization of data coming from EDGE devices. It does not include the ability to connect directly to plant hardware, as that is the function of the EDGE layer.

Throughout the documentation, each page will specify in the “Availability by version” section for which of these editions the described functionality is available.
